The most beautiful places on earth

When choosing a holiday destination, we always look for the most interesting places, but rarely look outside the classical destinations. Beyond European capitals or exotic cities, there are places whose beauty cuts respiration through their uniqueness. The blue waters of Greece seem to fade beside the rainbow lakes and springs of the world. Australia's Pink Lake, the Columbia Rainbow River, the Prismatic Spring of the USA, or the 20 million-year-old Indian Ocean - all of which should be seen at least once in a lifetime. No one knows for certain what is causing the bizarre coloring of Lake Hillier, known as Australia's Pink Lake, but a team of researchers has identified some probable causes. Scientists have analyzed microorganisms that survive in this lake - some of the few organisms that can live in a solid salt environment like this lake. The purpose of the research was to identify those organisms that could be responsible for the remarkable color of the water. Thus, 10 species of salt-loving bacteria have been found, almost all of which are pink, red or salmon, and are probably responsible for this phenomenon. This discovery cancels the previous belief that the pink color was algae. Another spectacular thing is that water is not always pink. Another spectacular coloring water is the River Curcubeu, or Caño Cristales of Colombia. Set in the Serrania Mountains of Macarena, the river is stunning by its colors: yellow, green, blue, black and red. The liquid rainbow is caused by a unique phenomenon - the encounter of several elements that change the color of the water. Thus, red comes from a red plant called Macarenia Clavigera. Black, from some black stones. Green comes from algae. Yellow is sand, and blue is the color of water. The same river is spectacular with its waterfalls, lagoons and caverns. A color show is also the Great Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park, USA. The hot spring of intense blue is surrounded by multicolored rings, with shades ranging from red to green. This effect is caused by bacteria and microbes that develop in warm, abundant mineral waters. The colors of the spring change with seasons and are stronger or more blurred, depending on the bacteria that develop at different temperatures. In the center of the spring, where the water springs from the ground, it is sterile, because of the high temperature. The Vaadahoo Islands Group of the Maldives are known as a paradise place. But these island islands really become hypnotizing at night: the waters shine like a mirror reflecting the stars. However, the glare is water, and the light source is phytoplankton - marine microbes - which are bioluminescent and emit blue blazes. In the Indian Ocean, 250 kilometers from Somalia and 340 kilometers from Yemen, lies the Lost Land of Socotra, the island with 20 million-year-old vegetation. There are about 800 rare species of flora and fauna on the island, many of which are nowhere else in the world. On the island there are sandy beaches, limestone caves and tall mountains, and the very warm and dry climate has led to a distinct image of the plants.
